Dear Graduate Students,

Please be sure to get your applications completed by the deadline this Friday and if you run into any issue notify myself or Kathy Redd (with myself Cc'd) so we can get it fixed. First year graduate students should consult with the faculty member whose lab they joined to help decide if they would like for you to apply for the fall TA position. If you are a first year student and have not selected a major professor nor will you have a major professor selected by the end of the spring quarter, you can still apply for a TA position. Also, it may be the best option as it will give you an opportunity to be in the pool for a TA position which would fund you for the quarter if selected.

This is a reminder that the TA Application for Fall 2021 closes this Friday, 5/14 at11:59pm.  Students who are late in their academic career may need help changing their exit date in order to apply. Subject: TA Application for Fall 2021 open

Dear selected CNAS Graduate Students,

Fall 2021 TA applications for courses in the life sciences (BCH, BIOL, BPSC, CBNS, ENTM, MCBL) are now available!

The deadline to submit an application is Friday, May 14, 2021. The system will shut down at 11:59pm on 05/14/21 and no late applications will be accepted (this will be strictly enforced by the TAAC committee).

Please logon to http://taonline.ucr.edu to submit your application as soon as possible!

During this opening, you may request classes for every term of 2021-22; however, you are still required to log in, review/update your request list, and re-submit your application every quarter. You will be notified of Winter and Spring re-opening later in the year and you can check the expected date now on the TA Online Calendar on the front page of the system.

We recently had some trouble with students submitting an application with no requested classes.

  *   If you do not request a class for Fall 2021, you will not appear on the list of potential TAs for the class.  Neither the instructors nor the TAAC members can see your application and you are unlikely to be appointed.

  *   It is also important to request all classes for which you are qualified when completing your application.  Listing more courses in your request list ensures that more instructors and Departments see your application.

Attached are some tips and information to help you in completing your application.  If you have any concerns, please feel free to e-mail me questions or a request for an individual Zoom meeting to discuss.  I also have scheduled Zoom Office Drop-In hours at the following times:
