Dear Colleagues,
Student Life has a great volunteer opportunity for you to be a resource for students on campus. We need volunteers for Highlander Information Booths during the first 3 days of classes.
This is a chance to assist UCR students (which will most likely be first years, with the occasional senior who can't find a building) find where they need to go for class, answer any UCR-related questions, AND strongly encourage them to participate in Highlander Welcome events. Assisting UCR students to navigate their way around campus as well as answering any of their questions to help start off their 2012-2013 school year is an extremely rewarding experience as you already know. We need enthusiastic volunteers to have a smile on their face and that are ready to assist students to navigate UCR. This is a great opportunity to be able to help students on their first couple days of school and make them feel comfortable on campus. On top of that this is also a great way to meet other UCR staff as well as some incredible student volunteers.
We will have three days of information booths at various locations as follows:
Thursday 9/27: from 6:30am-3:30pm (inclusive of setup/cleanup)
Friday 9/28: from 6:30am-1:00pm (inclusive of setup/cleanup)
Monday 10/1: from 6:30am-3:30pm (inclusive of setup/cleanup)
There are different shifts that you can sign up for. If you are interested in assisting us, please follow the link and fill out the form to indicate at which times you are available to participate: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HighlanderInfoBooths
Please fill out the form as soon as possible to aid in scheduling assignments for the 2012 Highlander Information Booths. Feel free to sign up for as many, time slots as you'd like, and then we'll complete our staff schedule. Once a schedule is complete I will let you know your confirmed dates and times.
For questions or additional information please contact, Adrian Cazares, First Year Programs and Orientation Advisor, at adrian.cazares at ucr.edu<mailto:adrian.cazares at ucr.edu> or call (951)827-3469<tel:%28951%29827-3469>.
Thank you in advance for your consideration in assisting us with the 2012 Highlander Info Booths.
