Undocumented Students: What You Need to Know Now
New policy toward undocumented students

The Obama administration has changed the conversation regarding undocumented students youth and young adults. Most notably for you, that includes undocumented students. Fact: There are approximately 1.4 million immigrants currently in the United States who might meet the requirements of the deferred action initiative, either now or when they are older.
How will your institution respond? Do you need to change your policies? Keep them? Hedge them? Scrap them?
You're not alone in dealing with these issues ... every college and university faces them.
On September 7, you'll have the opportunity to get some help, from one of higher ed's leading authorities on the subject.
Undocumented Students: What You Need to Know Now will be presented by Michael A. Olivas, Ph.D., J.D., the William B. Bates Distinguished Chair in Law at the University of Houston Law Center and director of the university's Institute for Higher Education Law and Governance. Author of 14 books, Dr. Olivas has also written the statutes on undocumented students for six different states. There is no one better qualified to speak on the subject.
In his one-hour video presentation, Dr. Olivas will provide a detailed overview of federal and state law, as well as the recently announced policy-enforcement decision. Through the lens of these often-conflicting laws and policies, he'll then examine how college and university administrators like you can best address the myriad issues involved in serving undocumented students, in areas including:
* Admissions
* Financial aid
* Career services
* Placement
* And more
