Movie and Dinner Night with Q&A
Date: October 20
Time: 4 6:30 PM
Place: UCR HUB 355
Participants will have the opportunity to view Take My Eyes by Iciar
Bollain and starring Laia Marull, Luis Tosar, Candela Pena, and Rosa Marie
Sara. A winner of seven Goya Awards, the movie compellingly explores the
subject of domestic violence while simultaneously avoiding simplistic
characterizations. A Spanish film, it depicts a real life example of an
intimate relationship that turns abusive, as it shows the complexities of
human relationships around the issue of domestic violence. Following pizza
and refreshments, Liz Mondragon, PsyD at the Counseling Center; and Sarah
Pemberton, LCSW in Student Affairs; will facilitate discussion.
RAD: Riverside Against Domestic Violence
Date: October 22
Time: 8:30 10:30 PM

RAD is a vehicle for enabling students and others to speak out against
domestic or relationship violence. Included in the activity are the spoken
word, poetry, and stories. For those who want their stories heard, but
choose not to read or relay them, there is the option of having someone
else read or relay them. Contact Giselle Sorial at

The evening will include a documentary about the life of Denny: a young man
