DBRs, please share this information with your department via your internal listserv.

UCOP has advised us of changes made to the following benefits programs Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) for the 2024 Plan Year.  Specifically, there is new text concerning termination due to death; redefined language related to retirement in the 'Leaving UC Employment' section; and clarification for leaves shorter than 120 days (see 'Leaves Without Pay' section in the SPD).  The Retirement Handbook has also been updated with a minor revision regarding the termination of Dependent Care FSA participation upon retirement.

Note:  The Dependent Care and Health Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for Postdoctoral Scholars became effective on January 1, 2023.
