[Campus Notice] Access Free Specialty Software Through UCR’s Virtual Computer Lab

Dear Colleague,

Welcome to the fall quarter! I am writing to share with you the itopia
virtual computer lab (VLab)

one of UC Riverside’s technology services
<https://its.ucr.edu/blog/2024/09/20/student-technology-fee-offers-tech-tools-and-services-all-highlanders>
designed to enhance the academic experience for both faculty and students.

Made possible by the Student Technology Fee (STF) <https://its.ucr.edu/stf>,
the VLab service is a convenient and accessible way for the campus
community to access specialty instructional and classroom software. This
service allows students to complete coursework from anywhere, at any time,
using just an internet browser.

The VLab offers several key benefits:


   1.

   Access to Specialty Software: It hosts a variety of specialized
   software, eliminating the need for students to purchase expensive licenses.
   2.

   Platform Independence: Students can access the VLab from any computer,
   regardless of its operating system.
   3.

   Seamless Workflow: Users can easily upload documents from their cloud
   storage or hard drive, work on them with the required software, and
   download the revised files.
