[Campus Notice] GSMS Updates and Training Opportunities

[UCR Information Technology Solutions]

Dear Colleagues,

Since introducing the Graduate Student Management System (GSMS)
<https://graduate.ucr.edu/gsms>, the Graduate Division, in partnership with
Information Technology Solutions (ITS), has made progress on the
development of the new and improved system for graduate student funding and
employment. Please take a moment to read below updates on the GSMS
implementation timeline and upcoming training opportunities.
GSMS Implementation Timeline

As communicated previously, GSMS is being implemented in phases, with the
first functionality set to go live in early fall.

Early Fall 2025

Winter 2026

Late Winter 2026

Spring 2026

Admissions phase 1 processes will move to GSMS

Admissions phase 2 processes will move to GSMS


Launch of Employment Module for Spring 2026

Financial Offer Management will move to GSMS (GradSIS and GradESS will be
consolidated within GSMS)



Financial Offers for Fall 2026 quarter will be awarded using GSMS



Retirement of GradSIS, TAOnline, and other relevant college applications

Training for the Admissions (phase 1) processes was recently announced by
Elisa Gutierrez. Training plans are being developed for the launch of the
Employment and Financial modules, and will be communicated soon. In the
