Activate Your Free Microsoft 365 A3 License
Take the required action to receive your Microsoft 365 A3 license on March
21, 2025.
Dear Highlander,
Information Technology Solutions (ITS) is pleased to offer Microsoft 365 A3
licenses to graduate students at no cost. Unlike the standard A1 license
for students, this license includes access to the desktop and online
versions of popular Microsoft productivity tools including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook (see the full list of inclusions

How to Activate Your Free Microsoft 365 A3 License by the March 21, 2025,
Request Deadline
To take advantage of this offer, action is required on your part:
1.
Visit the Office 365 Education activation page
<https://signup.microsoft.com/signup?sku=Education>. The page should
confirm that you have an existing Office 365 Education account.
2.
Select the “Sign In” button and enter your UCR email address (
firstname.lastname at email.ucr.edu) then click “Next.” Select “I’m a
student.”
3.
Next, complete the steps to create your account. Note that you may be
asked to confirm your identity via your mobile phone number or email. When
you create your account, please use your firstname.lastname at email.ucr.edu
email address.
4.
After creating your account, you will move to the “Confirmation details”
section. You may skip inviting other people by selecting “Skip & go to
Office 365 Education.” Microsoft will confirm that you have successfully
signed up for Office 365 Education.
5.
Note that you may be required to download the Microsoft Authenticator
app in order to access Office 365 Education. Please visit the ITS
knowledge article

for step-by-step guidance on setting up Microsoft Authenticator for your
Office 365 Education account.
Once activation is completed, a Microsoft 365 A3 license will be assigned
to you on March 21, 2025.
Important: Activation of Office 365 Education is required to get your free
Microsoft 365 A3 license. If you do not complete the above-mentioned steps
by the March 21, 2025, deadline, you may request access to a Microsoft 365
A3 license using the ITS Software Request Form

Select “Microsoft Office” in the “Which Software” drop-down menu. After
submitting the form, you will be notified of your new Microsoft license
assignment within 3 to 5 business days.
