[Campus Notice] Refrain From Rebooting or Updating Your Computer to Prevent It From Being Disabled

UCR Information Technology Solutions tech-bulletin at lists.ucr.edu
Tue May 28 16:03:47 PDT 2024

Dear Campus User,

You are being contacted today because your computer may be impacted by an
update which could disable it.

Please refrain from rebooting your computer or accepting any updates until
you hear back from Information Technology Solutions. Should your computer
get the message “Reboot required,” please postpone the reminder for another
day.

We have received reports of users applying the updates and then not being
able to log in to their devices. In an abundance of caution, we are asking
users to refrain from taking any action on updates for their computers
until we have confirmed and corrected the root cause.

Please contact me at lily.barger at ucr.edu if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Lily Barger

Director of Campus Support
