[Campus Notice] Reminder: June 15 Rollout of New UCR Google Workspace Storage Quotas

Good Afternoon!

This is a reminder that the implementation of your new Google Workspace
storage quota of 100 GB will begin rolling out on June 15, 2024.

To reiterate my March 15 communication (attached), ITS is bumping up your
Google Workspace storage quota from 25 GB to 100 GB to ensure that your
storage services are not interrupted.

Your access to all Google Workspace services available to you will remain
unchanged. This includes R’Mail, Drive, Photos, Docs, Sheets, Slides,
Forms, and Gemini (formerly Bard). However, you are encouraged to review
the data you are currently storing and to regularly perform a cleanup. Here
are helpful tips to manage your UCR data storage:

   See your current storage usage <https://drive.google.com/drive/quota>

   Use Google Takeout to export your data from your UCR Google account

   Transfer ownership of files/folders

   containing UCR data (especially research data) to an individual with an
   active University role (e.g., a faculty or staff member).
Alternatively, move
   collaborative files/folders to a shared Google Drive
   <https://ucrsupport.service-now.com/ucr_portal/?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0012156>
   managed by individuals with an active University role.


I also ask that you take note of the new storage limit for alumni

so you can prepare accordingly.
