[Campus Notice] IAMRiverside: Email Guidance for BCOE

Hello,


As you know, Information Technology Solutions (ITS) will soon deploy UCR's new identity and access management infrastructure, IAMRiverside<https://its.ucr.edu/iamriverside>.


ITS would like to provide Bourns College of Engineering with guidance on how to ensure proper email creation in the new system. To provide a new user with an email on the engr.ucr.edu domain, please perform the following steps:

  1.  Before submitting a ticket to the shared service center (which enters the individual into UCPath), create an account for the individual in IAMRiverside (iamriverside.ucr.edu - please note URL will not be live until after successful deployment).
  2.  To create an account for a new user, follow the steps provided in the available knowledge resources<https://its.ucr.edu/iamriverside#knowledge> on How to Request the Creation of a NetID<https://o365ucr.sharepoint.com/:b:/t/ITSResources/Ed4Wv1AMjfpNu0XnuTexSYQBVWZXtLrx4jfSRf_bta9GgA>. Note: When asked to select an email option, be sure that no option is selected.
  3.  Ensure that the 'supervisor' or 'sponsor' associated with the request follows the steps in the Approval Process for Account and Policy Requests<https://o365ucr.sharepoint.com/:b:/t/ITSResources/EXtE9OWtgI9OmyEiF7Ty_FIBfHerycL3Rr2W_ATuG7Ob1Q> knowledge resource.
  4.  Once the request is processed and the account is created, a NetID will be assigned to the user.
  5.  Follow the steps in the How to Manage User Profiles<https://o365ucr.sharepoint.com/:b:/t/ITSResources/EcbEe4lwkyNLvQbejkoODeIBo-L6T8kRIQQZCX2oWfbT6g> knowledge resource. Update the user's email information to reflect the 'NetID at engr.ucr.edu<mailto:NetID at engr.ucr.edu>' email address.
