Dear User,

Our usage metrics indicate that you use Skype regularly.

*Please be advised that after December 31, 2021, you will no longer be able
to log into Skype for Business, as this service is being retired.* The
recommended replacement tool is Microsoft Teams, which supports chat,
calls, videoconferencing, document sharing, and other collaborative
features.

To begin using Microsoft Teams, visit https://teams.microsoft.com. You can
run Teams via web browser or via application by installing the desktop
client or smartphone application. Additional guidance is available in the IT
Knowledge Base
<https://ucrsupport.service-now.com/ucr_portal/?id=kb_article&sys_id=ae34d6441b42f8909c0b844fdd4bcb76>
at kb.ucr.edu.

*What will happen to all my Skype for Business data (e.g., contacts,
conversation history, etc.)?*
Your Skype for Business information will be available as follows:

   - Your past conversations, calls, and voicemails can be viewed from your
   Conversation History folder in Outlook
   - Your Skype for Business contacts will be available in Teams under the
   Calls tab
   - Your Skype for Business meetings can be accessed from your Outlook
calendar or from the Meetings tab in Teams

*What will happen to my Skype for Business meetings?*

You will still be able to join or host any pre-scheduled Skype for Business
meetings, but all new meetings will be scheduled in Teams. You can also
reschedule any of your Skype for Business meetings as a Teams meeting to
simplify the number of tools you need to use.

*What action do I need to take?*
Begin using Microsoft Teams as your primary tool for chat, meetings, calls,
and other virtual collaboration. Resources available to you include:
