Professor Jalondra Davis is teaching these two exciting new English courses
this Spring. They'll be of interest to students interested in contemporary
Black writers, Black diasporic culture, genre, climate and the environment,
and speculation.

Prof. Davis's ENGL 251 Seminar on the Black Gothic will count a one of the
two graduate seminars for the Designated Emphasis in Speculative Fictions
and Cultures of Science.

You can enroll in ENGL 179 and count it for graduate credit, as well, if
you also enroll for 2 credits of ENGL 292 (or the same number in your home
department). For any course that isn't already listed as eligible for the
SFCS emphasis, you will be able to file for a substitution of eligible
coursework on R'Grad where you enter requirements for a DE, and it will get
sent to me for approval. Ask your department's Graduate Advisor to help you
follow the right procedure.
