[SFCC] Numbers of fanzines in each SFCC member institution?

Dear SFCC-ers,

As those of you who were able to join our windswept SFCC meeting at RBMS, I would like to apply for grant funding (e.g., an NEH Preservation and Access Grant) for a collaborative cataloging project of the fanzine collections in SFCC institutions. While this initiative would mainly involve the institutions with substantial fanzine holdings, the project would benefit every SFCC institution, including those with only a small number of fanzines.

I am at the very earliest stages of planning, but will keep you all apprised on developments.. The only thing I would need from each of you at this early stage is an approximate --truly a ballpark--count of the number of fanzines in your institution. For example, the Eaton Collection has about 110,000 separate issues. "Guesstimates" are fine; I am not asking anyone to start counting his/her holdings!

If you have any questions about this project or need clarification on any of this, please do not hesitate to write or to call me directly (951-827-3233).

Best,
Melissa
