The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued a revised I-9
Employment Eligibility Verification Form, which must be used for all new
hires, as well as for the reverification of certain employees with
temporary work authorization, effective February 2, 2009.

The most significant change to the revised form is that an employer can
no longer accept expired documents during the I-9 verification process.
A number of changes were made to the list of acceptable documents within
"List A" of the form. In addition, when a current employee is
reverified because his or her employment authorization has expired, the
revised Form I-9 with the updated "List A" of acceptable documents must
be used.

A link to the revised form, and a summary of changes made to the "List
A" of acceptable documents, is available here
<http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-9_IFR_02-02-09.pdf> .
