[pps-news] REMINDER: DOS Code STP changed to SAS for Staff Members

In October 2007 the following PPS News was sent out.   We have again
identified several employees who have been set up with the incorrect DOS
code of "STP" and are staff employees.   The DOS code for staff stipends
is "SAS".  The central Payroll Office will be changing the "STP" DOS
code to "SAS" for these staff employees.   In the future, please use the
appropriate DOS code for staff stipends of "SAS".

Re:     DOS Code STP changed to SAS for Staff Members

As a result of the DOS code project, the DOS Code stipend, "STP" has
been modified.   The change is as follows:

 

*	The new DOS code "SAS" should be used for staff stipends paid
pursuant to Personnel Policies for Staff Members, Compensation, 30.I 
*	"STP" should only be used for academic stipends paid pursuant to
the relevant academic personnel policies. 

 

These changes are intended to improve consistency in the reporting of
compensation to the corporate Personnel System and the UC Retirement
System.

 

We have generated a list of staff employees who are currently coded in
PPS with a DOS code of "STP".   By Tuesday morning, October 9th, the
central Payroll office will have changed the "STP" DOS code to "SAS".
In the future, please use the "SAS" DOS code for staff stipends only.

 

NOTE:   This change did not affect Academic employees who will continue
to be paid with DOS code "STP".
