-----------------------------------------------------------

The Payroll/Personnel System (PPS) has been updated with the academic
range adjustments on 10/10/2006. These pay rates are effective October
1, 2006 and will be reflected on November 1, 2006 paychecks.
Departments/units should, at this time, verify the new monthly
rate/amount on PPS for all academic salaries, using the Academic Salary
Scales for 2006/07
<http://www.ucop.edu/acadadv/acadpers/tab0607/tabcont.html> , which are
located on the AP website (academicpersonnel.ucr.edu
<http://academicpersonnel.ucr.edu/> ), under Policies &
Procedures/Salary Issues.

Please direct questions to Elena Mateos at ext. 21958 or Roberta Nardico
at ext. 21943.

Dear Administrative Managers,

The following has been provided to all UCR Academic Senate Faculty and
NON-Exclusively Represented Academic Employees (not represented by a
union) via Scotmail. Please forward a hardcopy of this notice to any
affected employees (as listed above) in your department/unit who do not
have email access or who have not been designated as either "Academic
Senate" or "Non-Senate Academic" employees in your UCR Tel Program
database (which is maintained by and updated by your departmental UCR
Tel Coordinator). If affected employees do not have internet access,
they have been advised to contact you for the policies.

Please provide a copy of this notice to those employees in your
department/unit who are responsible for the administration of Academic
Personnel Manual policy.

ACADEMIC PERSONNEL OFFICE

*******************************************************************

Dear Campus Community,

The 2006-07 Academic Salary Scales, which have been increased by 2%
effective October 1, 2006, are now available on-line. You may connect
to them from the Academic Personnel web site at:

http://academicpersonnel.ucr.edu/ Click on "Salary Issues" on the
left-hand side of the home page, then click on "UCOP Salary Scales", or
you may go directly to the OP site at this web address:
http://www.ucop.edu/acadadv/acadpers/tab0607/tabcont.html

Special salary adjustments have been made to the following salary
scales:

* In accordance with the agreement between the UAW and UC, the salary
scales for Academic Student Employees (ASE) in Tables 20, 21, and 22
have been increased by an additional 1.5% ("merit equivalent"), for a
total 3.5%

increase effective October 1, 2006.

* The salary scale for the Professional Research Series, Fiscal Year,
for Business/Management and Engineering (Table 16), has now been
collapsed to a single rate for each step.

* The salary scales for Lecturers and other Non-senate Instructional
Unit members (Tables 17, 18, 19, 37, 38A, 38B) have been increased by a
2% general adjustment for Unit 18 titles, for both represented and
non-represented employees.

* The salary scales for Librarians (Tables 31A and 31B) have been
adjusted by a 2% general range adjustment for both represented and
non-represented employees, with the exception of Assistant Librarian,
Step I, as described below.

* In accordance with the agreement between the AFT and UC, the salary
rate for Assistant Librarian, Step I, in Table 31A has been increased to
$40,008 effective October 1, 2006. Since the hourly rate for the Hourly
Intermittent Librarian, Step I, in Table 31B, is based on the hourly
basis equivalent to the Assistant Librarian, Step I, it has also been
increased to

$19.16 on October 1, 2006.

* The salary scales for Research Assistants and Graduate Student
Postgraduate Researchers have been removed from the 2006-07 Academic
Salary Scales packet because they are all paid now from the Graduate
Student Researcher (GSR) salary scale (Table 24). The salary scales for
Postdoctoral Scholars and Non-Student PGR's have been renumbered
accordingly to Tables 25 and 26. The GSR scale has been increased only
by a 2% general range adjustment effective October 1, 2006. An
agreement was made not to provide an additional 1.5% increase to the GSR
scale, as was provided for in the MOU contract for ASE's, because this
increase was not given to house staff and to postdocs, too. Also, the
GSR scale has a large pay range (ten steps) which campuses can pay GSR's
higher salaries. Like the GSR scale, the salary scales for house staff
(Table 23), postdoctoral scholars (Table 25), and non-student pgr's
(Table 26), all have been increased only by the 2% general range
adjustment.

* The salary scale for Continuing Education Specialists (Table 35A) will
continue to be shown until all continuing education specialists have
transition to the new Continuing Educator salary scale (Table 36), which
was introduced last year when the Continuing Educator policy was issued.

* The Salary Differential Housing Allowance (Table 45) was renamed to
Faculty Recruitment Allowance following policy revision of the Faculty
Recruitment Allowance Program in APM 190, Appendix E.
