Holiday Closing Calendar as discussed at the PPS Users group meeting today.

2005-06 Holiday Closing Calendar

 

Campus closing during the holiday season this year will be as follows:

 

*     Monday, December 26 - December Holiday 

*     Tuesday, December 27 - December Holiday

*     Wednesday, December 28 - Non-Holiday*

*     Thursday, December 29 - New Year's Holiday

*     Friday, December 30 - New Year's Holiday

 

Campus will close Monday, December 26, 2005 and re-open on Monday, January
2, 2006, with the following exceptions:

 

December 28th, 2005

*Science Library: open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

*Rivera Library: open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

*Mail Services: No deliveries; open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Departments may pickup
and drop-off mail at the Mail Center between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

 

December 28th is not designated as a holiday and will need to be charged to
accrued vacation, accrued compensatory time or leave without pay.  Employees
taking December 28th as leave without pay should be aware that their
vacation and sick leave accrual, as well as retirement service credit for
the month, will be prorated according to hours on pay status.

 

New employees who are eligible for vacation accrual or employees without
sufficient accumulated vacation may use vacation leave prior to actual
accrual to cover the non-holiday.  Employees who do not qualify for vacation
accrual and do not have accrued compensatory time off will need to take
leave without pay.
