The Payroll/Personnel System (PPS) has been updated with the academic range
adjustments. These pay rates are effective October 1, 2005 and will be
reflected on November 1, 2005 paychecks. Departments/units should, at this
time, verify the new monthly rate/amount on PPS for all academic salaries,
using the Academic
<http://www.ucop.edu/acadadv/acadpers/tab0506/tabcont.html> Salary Scales
for 2005/06, which are located on the AP website (academicpersonnel.ucr.edu
<http://academicpersonnel.ucr.edu/> ), under Policies & Procedures/Salary
Issues.

Please direct questions to Elena Mateos in the Payroll Office at extension
21958.

Academic salaries with off-scale or above-scale components may be verified
with your deans' offices.

The following adjustments must be made manually by departments/units:

Faculty on Recall Status for teaching should receive a range adjustment
increase on their teaching stipend in accordance with Table 10
<http://www.ucop.edu/acadadv/acadpers/tab0506/table10.pdf> of the academic
salary scales.

All salary adjustments are detailed in Assistant Vice
<http://www.ucop.edu/acadadv/acadpers/tab0506/letter.pdf> President
Switkes' Memorandum on 2005-06 Salary Scales.

Academic Salary Adjustments Include:

*	On-scale salaries in the Professor series were range adjusted in
accordance with the system-wide salary scales. For faculty with off-scale
salaries, the off-scale portion of the salary will also be adjusted by 2.0%.

*	Above-Scale salaries in the Professor series were range adjusted by
2.0% in accordance with system-wide guidelines.
*	The Visiting Professor series was not range adjusted as these
salaries are by agreement rates.
*	Academic salaries for librarians exclusively represented by a
bargaining unit are the subject of ongoing collective bargaining
negotiations. For that reason, their salaries have not been range adjusted
during this process. Non-represented librarians were range adjusted in
accordance with the system-wide salary scales.
*	Postdoctoral Scholars were range adjusted by 2.0%.

Thank you for your cooperation.
