*Subject:* mid-semester course: CSU Fullerton, graduate research methods
I’m Matt Jarvis, chair of Politics, Administration & Justice at CSU
Fullerton.* I anticipate a mid-semester opening for a class,* and I am not
seeing anyone in my current adjunct pool who can cover the course.
The course is our graduate research methods course. It’s really a fairly
standard research methods course, running from design through regression. I
anticipate this opening will come up around April 1, meaning the course
material to be covered would be an intro to OLS regression, expanding to
multiple regression, model specification, and limited dependent variable
models, and a final week for summary and student paper discussions. There
are about *12 students *in the class (not sure if any have dropped during
the semester), and they would have a homework assignment on regression and
then their big papers to grade (I believe the literature review and
research design portions are already graded). *The pay is proportional to
the amount of the semester remaining and scaled by highest degree obtained,
so I would guess that pay for April 1 through grades due on May 26 to be
around $2000, but that will vary by the precise date and highest degree
earned,* so that’s only a guesstimate. The course meets twice weekly, TuTh,
5:30-6:45, on campus. Ideally, we’d hope for someone who is *ABD or has
their PhD in hand* for this course.
Anyone interested in *this* course should email me (mjarvis at fullerton.edu). *If
students are interested in this or in courses for the fall, our adjunct
pool can be applied for here:*

Again, this is an anticipated opening, so nothing is certain yet, but this
is such a specific need that I wanted to start reaching out for it sooner
rather than later.
