> Dear Professor Godrej,
>
> GradSuccess would like to invite nominations from the Department of Political Science for two dissertation support programs this summer. We encourage you to nominate graduate students who have the potential to finish their dissertations but likely face challenges that could impede their progress.
>
> The Dissertation Intensive, a two-hour weekly seminar, will meet every Friday on Zoom from 10:00am-12:00pm from June 24th through August 21st. This program is intended to help graduate students who have completed their prospectus and are far enough along in the research process to begin writing their dissertations. We have room for up to one Political Science graduate student in this program, but we encourage you to nominate four, as some are unavailable or drop out of the program. Nominees should have an approved prospectus, have advanced to candidacy, be at the beginning stages of drafting the dissertation, and expect to be enrolled as a full-time graduate student in Fall 2022.
>
> The second program we’re offering this summer is the Dissertation Deep Dive for students who have at least two chapters of their dissertation drafted and should be ready to file between September 2022 and June 2023. This three-day on-campus retreat (exact on-campus location TBA) will give students time to work on writing a chapter or revising what they have already written. The Deep Dive is currently scheduled for July 26-28, 2022. We have space for at least one of your students in this program but invite you to nominate up to four. Nominees should have at least two draft chapters at the time of nomination.
>
> Please submit your ranked list of nominations for both programs via our online form:

>
> If you would prefer to submit your nominations via email or campus mail, please include the following information: your department, nominees’ names, and SIDs for both programs. For the Dissertation Intensive, please attach the dissertation prospectus for each nominee. For the Dissertation Deep Dive, please attach two completed chapters of the dissertation. Send the email to alexis.smith at ucr.edu <mailto:alexis.smith at ucr.edu>. Please submit your nominations by May 24th at 11:59pm.
>
> Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the nomination process or our dissertation support programs.
