> PRESENTATION
> In recent decades, the study of Ibero-American music has undergone a deep
> transformation driven by the development of new strategies, methods, and
> theories, as well as by increasing interdisciplinarity and the rapid
> incorporation of computational tools. These new frameworks coexist with
> (auto)ethnographic, semiotic, and decolonial perspectives, fostering
> renewed analytical approaches that transcend formalist boundaries and
> enable a more plural understanding of musical signification processes in
> Ibero-American music. The V MUSAM / SEdeM Conference invites scholars to
> reflect on these emerging approaches from a transatlantic perspective,
> addressing both the analysis of sound discourse through updated analytical
> tools and the study of discourses about music, including its creation,
> performance, reception, and circulation between both sides of the Atlantic.
> The conference aims to establish a scientific dialogue that expands the
> analytical possibilities and strategies of the Ibero-American soundscape,
> promoting a more dynamic and inclusive framework that reflects the
> diversity and complexity of musical practices in the Atlantic and global
> contexts.
