Researchers want data. Do you want a $100 gift card?



Through a partnership with teachers & researchers at UCSB & George Mason University, you have the opportunity to join a study in writing engagement. Participation requires administering a short survey to your students and completing a short survey yourself. That's all you need to do to receive a $100 gift card. Well, you also need to register through this Google Form<https://forms.gle/eGThzz3Wa7QTRftGA>.



To learn more about this opportunity, please see the study overview, below, as well as the attached documents. I know it is a crazy time of year, but this is really interesting research that I think you will get something out of (not just a $100 gift card).



Study Overview:

After students complete a writing assignment of the teacher's choice, teachers administer a short, online survey called The Writing Engagement Scale - WES. The researchers then compile students' responses and send them back to teachers in an easy-to-read format (for both the whole class and for individual students).  After reviewing the survey results, teachers respond to a brief questionnaire and share copies of student work with the research team.  Participating teachers receive a $100.00 gift card as a token of appreciation for administering the survey, providing copies of their students' work, and completing the teacher questionnaire.  If you are interested, results of the study will be shared with you.
