Dr. Gonzales is a Professor and Department Head of Educational Leadership & Policy and the Director of the Center for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Arizona. Dr. Gonzales is an expert in the complexities of diversity and equity in higher education, focusing on hiring and advancement at universities. Event is co-sponsored by the Advacement and Retention in Academe Work Group, Botany and Plat Sciences, Chicano Student Programs, UCR Hispanic Servining Institution Committee, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

Graduate Writing Series
Every Thursday, April 4th - June 6th
10am-2pm in HUB 268
Coffee, Snacks and a light lunch will be provided.
Join us for a weekly writing series to support your writing goals and advance your writing projects en comunidad! Event is co-sponsored by Chicano Student Programs, UCR Graduate Writing Center, and the Chicano Link Graduate Peer Mentor Program.

Healing the Academy Closing Reception
Tuesday, April 30th
3pm-5pm in HUB 268
The Healing the Academy<https://healingtheacademy.com/> project was created with the long-term goal of mitigating social injustice, health disparities and psychological trauma among historically marginalized and excluded communities. The project promotes transformative approaches in higher education to empower and liberate communities through knowledge, democracy, capacity building and collective healing. Dra. Evelyn Vázquez, Ph.D., M.S. will lead the presentation followed by a networking session for graduate students. Food will be available while supplies last. Event is co-sponsored by Chicano Student Programs, UCR Hispanic Servining Institution Committee and Grad Success.
