[Geospatial] UC GIS Week 11/18-11/20, and other GIS Day events

Hello everyone,



November is the month of GIS Day and Geography Awareness Week. I'd like to
share information about events at the UC and locally that are all
about increasing our awareness of GIS applications and advances!



Registration

now open for the sixth annual UC GIS Week conference, which will be held
virtually from November 18-20, 2025.



The conference will feature presentations, lightning talks, and a virtual
map/poster gallery. Attend one or multiple sessions of this event, which is
thought to be one of the largest GIS Day observations in the world.



Students, researchers and instructors from across the University of
California will share their cutting-edge knowledge and expertise with each
other and with the wider community.



Topic areas will include:

   - Urban Geographies
   - Environmental Geography
   - GIS Frontiers: From Solar Mapping to Autonomous Flight and Driving
   - Indigenous Geographies
   - Public Health Challenges
   - GIS Tools in Action
   - Campus Operations and Collaborations
   - California Tree Species Range Atlas Workshop
   - Advancing Geospatial Science: Education, Application, and Visualization



All sessions are free and open to the public.



Additionally, there will be opportunities to participate in a humanitarian

the week. No experience is required!
