[Entm-researchstaff] Tiger Beetle Social Club

[Quinn McFrederick]

Hello fellow Entomologists,
Now that academic year 2026/27 is getting rolling the Entomology social
committee is excited to start building community and pura vida for the
department.

First, we are going to restart the Tiger Beetle Social Club. This club is a
social running/walking club. We will start this Thursday at 5 PM with a
~1/2 hour run/walk starting from the Entomology vestibule. This is a no
drop activity: we will walk when the group needs to. We strive for the
speed of the tiger beetle but prioritize socializing above a hard workout.
Email me if you are interested; I will add you to the WhatsApp group and we
can adjust the time if it is better for the group.

We hope to offer more social activities and will keep you updated on our
plans. If overlapping generations, division of labor, and cooperative brood
care (since we have no budget we can't promise this one, haha) sound like
your cuppa tea, please join us!
Best,
Quinn S. McFrederick
