[Em-announcements] Registrar's Office Reorganization

Enrollment Management Staff,

This email is to formally announce a recent re-organization that has 
occurred in the Office of the Registrar.  My goals in implementing 
this re-organization were to balance the portfolios of staff, merge 
the previous Internal and External Records to a single reporting 
structure and entity (Records), and to ensure that we were positioned 
to meet the growing demands of the campus in the most effective and 
efficient manner.  The result of this includes the following changes 
in the Registrar's Office that might be of interest to you:

1.      Attached is a new organizational chart demonstrating visually 
the movement of staff and reporting structures.  As noted above, I 
have removed the entities of Internal and External Records.  The 
following are the responsibility clusters that now exist in the office:
         a.  Records
         b.  Academic Scheduling
         c.  Courses
         d.  On Course (Degree Audit System)

2.      Attached is a new listing of staff responsibilities.  I 
encourage you to disseminate this document to your staff as a tool 
for who they should contact if they need assistance.

3.      Due to two staff separations, the office is currently 
recruiting for our Transcript Assistant and one of our Student 
Affairs Assistant positions.  These are active recruitments that we 
hope to have secured in the coming weeks.  In the meantime, current 
staff are working to ensure all services are maintained.

4.      We said good-bye to Cheri Spina, Course Specialist, due to 
her retirement at the end of June.  We are very thankful for her 30 
years of service and will miss her extensive knowledge base.  With 
that said we know she will enjoy her ability to spend more time 
enjoying her various hobbies.  We have been given approval to begin 
our search for this position and so we will be opening this 
recruitment, as well, in the coming weeks.

5.      Understanding and identifying that there is a great need for 
additional support for On Course (Degree Audit System), I will be 
opening a recruitment for a position that will be responsible for all 
aspects of On Course as their primary job.   I am very excited about 
this opportunity and the ability for us to continue to improve our 
service to the Colleges in relation to On Course.  We have been given 
approval to begin our search for this position and so we will be 
opening this recruitment, as well, in the coming weeks.

As you can see, we are currently experiencing a great positive change 
in our office as we move forward with the knowledge that we want to 
be in a position to best support the campus and our students now and 
into the future.  I want to thank all the current staff of the 
Registrars Office during this time of transition because they have 
had to truly demonstrate their outstanding ability to work as a 
team.  They have stepped up to the plate to cover current vacancies, 
maintained the required level of customer service I expect, but most 
of all they have met the challenge to embrace change.

I hope that this email provides you the basic understanding of the 
Office of the Registrar and gives you the resources you need so we 
can continue to service you in our various capacities.  With that
