An Evening with Fiction Writers

Two fiction writers, actually.

Victoria Patterson is the author of Drift, a collection of interlinked
short stories that mostly take place around Newport was published by
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Drift was selected as a 2009 finalist for The
Story Prize.  Her novel, This Vacant Paradise, is forthcoming from
Counterpoint Press in February 2011. Her fiction and nonfiction have
appeared in various literary journals, including The Southern Review, Santa
Monica Review, and The Florida Review.  Her story ³Johnny Hitman² was listed
in the 100 Distinguished Stories in Best American Short Stories 2009. She
lives with her family in South Pasadena, California
     
Tod Goldberg is the author of seven books, including the novels Living Dead
Girl, a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize; Fake Liar Cheat and
the popular Burn Notice series, as well as the short story collections
Simplify, winner of the Other Voices Short Story Collection Prize and a 2006
Finalist for the SCIBA Award for Literature. His new book, Other Resort
Cities, was just released. His short fiction has appeared in numerous
journals and anthologies, twice receiving Special Mention for the Pushcart
Prize as well as being named a Distinguished Story of the Year in the 2009
Best American Mystery Stories. His essays, journalism, and criticism appear
regularly in many publications, including the Los Angeles Times, Chicago
Tribune, and Las Vegas CityLife and have been featured in E!, Jewcy, Palm
Springs Life Magazine, Pebble Beach Magazine, and Better Nutrition.  His
work has earned four Nevada Press Association Awards for excellence. He
holds an MFA in Creative Writing & Literature from Bennington College and
directs the MFA program in Creative Writing & Writing for the Performing
Arts at UC-Riverside's Palm Desert campus.  He is also a ton of fun.

Our salon will take place at:

$20.00 includes nibbles, sips and sometimes cake. Advance tickets are
required. Walk-ins are discouraged as seating is limited to about 50. We're
going to stay in the gallery for this one (as opposed to out in the lobby),
so if you're interested, sign up soon.
