[CW-Grad] Mark Your Calendars: Dan Chaon on Dec. 3rd in Palm Desert

Hi all,

Wanted to give you all a head's up so that you can clear your 
calendars and make wise bookstore purchases: National Book 
Award finalist Dan Chaon will be visiting the Palm Desert 
campus on December 3rd at 7pm for a reading from his 
bestselling (and widely and wildly acclaimed) novel Await Your 
Reply. The event is free and will be followed by a book 
signing. 

(If you're not available on the 3rd, fear not: Dan will also 
be appearing at our Low Residency to discuss his book on the 
evening of the 5th at 8pm at the Riviera Resort in Palm 
Springs.)

If you're not familiar with Dan's work, here's his bio:
Dan Chaon's most recent novel, Await Your Reply, is out this 
fall from Ballantine Books. Dan is also the author of Among 
the Missing, which was a finalist for the National Book Award 
and You Remind Me of Me, which was named one of the best books 
of the year by The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, San 
Francisco Chronicle, The Christian Science Monitor, and 
Entertainment Weekly, among other publications. Dan's fiction 
has appeared in many journals and anthologies, including Best 
American Short Stories, The Pushcart Prize, and The O. Henry 
Prize Stories. He has been a finalist for the National 
Magazine Award in Fiction, and he was the recipient of the 
2006 Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of 
Arts and Letters. Dan lives in Cleveland, Ohio, and teaches at 
Oberlin College, where he is the Pauline M. Delaney Professor 
of Creative Writing.
