Andrew W Dear CW folks!

I thought some of you might be potentially interested in this. There's a
Mellon Group that will be investigating Asian/American Cultural Studies in
the 21st century & will be bringing writers & other speakers to campus.
Prof. Traise Yamamoto of the English Department is heading the effort up.

The 1st meeting is:
When: Thursday, 2 October, 2:15-3:15
Where: English Dept. conference room (2212)

If you're interested, please e-mail her at traise.yamamoto at ucr.edu to get
added to the list. I have the Mellon proposal & some other notes -- if
you're interested in seeing it, please e-mail me offlist for it.

Also, the 1st writer coming will be David Mura, who will be reading from his
new novel, *Famous Suicides of the Japanese Empire*, just out from Coffee
House Press. He's reading Thursday, October 9, 4:30-6pm at HMNSS 1500.
