I think some of you might be inetrested in attending this lecture at USC:
Derek Attridge's COLT/ENGL-sponsored lecture, "A Return to Form?," is this
Thursday, February 28, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Richard Ide Commons
Room (THH 420). Derek Attridge, who is Professor of English at the
University of York, has written extensively on Joyce (most recently, *How to
Read Joyce*), and on J.M. Coetzee, as well as several studies of poetic
meter. His 2004 *Singularity of Literature*, which gives an essential
account of the literary experience, has been widely praised and reviewed. In
2007, he was elected to the British Academy.
