Derek Attridge's
COLT/ENGL-sponsored lecture, "A Return to Form?," is this Thursday,
February 28, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Richard Ide Commons Room (THH 420). Derek
Attridge, who is Professor of English at the University of York,
has written extensively on Joyce (most recently, <i><span style="font-style: italic;">How to Read Joyce</span></i>), and on J.M. Coetzee, as well as several
studies of poetic meter. His 2004 <i><span style="font-style: italic;">Singularity
of Literature</span></i>, which gives an essential account of the literary
experience, has been widely praised and reviewed. In 2007, he was elected to
the British Academy. </span></font><div class="gmail_quote"><div link="blue" vlink="purple" lang="EN-US"><div><br style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">If you do plan on attending and need directions to the room, feel free to email me, off-list.</span><br style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">
