an Art and Book encounter with New York Times best-selling author SUSAN
VREELAND.  November 14,   6:00 pm

The vivacious and talented Susan Vreeland (whose books - Girl in Hyacinth
Blue, Passion of Artemesia, Forest Lover, etc.- have been translated into 25
foreign languages) will be presenting her latest novel, Luncheon of the
Boating Party, which is based on Renoir's painting of the same name.  
 
She'll also play music of the period and show large projected images of the
Impressionist paintings and painters who play major roles in the book.
Objects (like a replica of Renoir's palette, a straw boating hat, a mock-up
of the still-life in the painting, historic photos, etc.) will be on display
and there will be books available for purchase and, of course, the author
will be happy to sign them.
 
Booklist calls Vreeland's  new novel "amazingly engrossing.lovely prose.a
riveting, complex novel".    Publisher's Weekly says:  "Vreeland achieves a
