The Center and UCR Extension are offering a lecture series this fall that will explore public policy alternatives and sustainability issues from the minds of some of the most experienced and renowned practitioners in Southern California.

The course will consist of six lectures on the institutional framework and looming issues in air quality, transportation, housing density, water, regional planning and public finance. The lectures will be held Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. beginning Oct. 7 (See full schedule below).

The lectures will be presented either in person or by videoconference at UCR's Riverside and Palm Desert campuses. Individuals can attend individual lectures on a non-credit basis for $35 per lecture, or enroll for the entire series for credit as part of a new certificate program in Sustainable Development and Green Design being launched this fall by UCR Extension.

Serving as course instructor is Andy McCue, principal of McCue and Associates and former Deputy Director of UCR's Center for Environmental Research and Technology. McCue also was the founding Managing Director of the Blakely Center.
