Dear CITL,
Please be advised that GlobalProtect, UC Riverside’s virtual private
network (VPN) service, is scheduled to be upgraded on the evening of
Tuesday, December 19, 2023. This update is an important step towards
enhancing campus security.
The GlobalProtect 5 series has reached end-of-life and is therefore no
longer supported by Information Technology Solutions (ITS).
If a user is unable to upgrade to the 6.1.1 version due to an incompatible
device or software, please make sure to inform them that their device is
not compliant with UCR's security standards for accessing secure campus
resources. Please contact ITS if you need to submit an exception request to
the Information Security Office.
