SCHOOL UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIP (SUP) INITIATIVE
APPRENTICESHIPS

MISSION:
          To connect the extraordinary resources of the university 
with the talents and vision of the K-12 educational community


GOALS:
    *  To increase the number and quality of K-12 students who meet 
UC eligibility requirements.
    *  To connect UCR undergraduate students with community programs 
in a motivational service- learning environment that stimulates 
degree completion.

BENEFITS:
    * Earn $25/per hour for school/community-focused efforts.
    * Earn college credit units for specific seminars.
    * Develop expert oral and written communication skills.
    * Create/enhance your professional network.
    * Become a partner and citizen within the campus and extended 
local communities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
    * UCR undergraduate students in good academic standing.
    * Attend paid mandatory summer preparation and fall orientation programs.
    * Provide 30-50 hours of motivating/tutoring/mentoring young 
people for college. preparation, especially in the high need area of 
mathematics.
    * Participate in meeting/seminars designed to enhance the SUP initiative.
