Subject: CNAS Life Sci TA Application for 21S-Deadline 12/18/20

Dear CNAS Life Sciences Graduate Students,

Spring 2021 TA applications for courses in the life sciences (BCH, BIOL, BPSC, CBNS, ENTM, MCBL) are now available! The deadline to submit an application is Friday, December 18, 2020. The system will shut down at 11:59pm on 12/18/20 and no late applications will be accepted. If you decide that you do not want a position after applying, you can e-mail me and I will remove your application from consideration. This will really help the TAAC committee to recommend TAs who really want a TA position.

Please logon to http://taonline.ucr.edu<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__taonline.ucr.edu&d=DwMFAg&c=LsLxleeqPm1pgCNn-PN_bQ&r=Z_HV3pwt74-b2Z2YU6IyOyj628816ixN085tmyEC-mE&m=_wF7COtcl2a4tuqxkB2Y3y_7JNjPfRrXlmKoBwRMQm8&s=X2nRJ8Aiss05BGo129jIM9wkudXvSLwbbSabtLejbwY&e=> to submit your application as soon as possible!

Here is some additional information for common application issues/questions:

  * If you cannot find your Major Professor on the drop-down please let me know and I will get him/her added immediately so you can complete your application.

  * Even if you listed Spring classes in your fall or winter application, you are REQUIRED to login, review your application and submit before the deadline in order to be considered for a TA position in Spring 2021

  * If you apply but do not request any classes for Spring 2021, you will not appear on the list of potential TAs for the class. Neither the instructors nor the TAAC members can see your application and you are unlikely to be appointed. It is important to request all classes for which you are qualified when completing your application. This ensures that you appear for consideration to many instructors/departments.

  * Sometimes there are two lectures of the same course (for example: BIOL 005A 001 and BIOL 005A 030). If you are interested in being considered for both sections, please list both on your priority list.

  * The TA Online Manual has a handy list of materials to gather before you apply for the first time. It is available via link from the front page of http://taonline.ucr.edu<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__taonline.ucr.edu&d=DwMFAg&c=LsLxleeqPm1pgCNn-PN_bQ&r=Z_HV3pwt74-b2Z2YU6IyOyj628816ixN085tmyEC-mE&m=_wF7COtcl2a4tuqxkB2Y3y_7JNjPfRrXlmKoBwRMQm8&s=X2nRJ8Aiss05BGo129jIM9wkudXvSLwbbSabtLejbwY&e=>

If you have any trouble with the application or have questions, please let me know right away and I will be happy to help.

Kathy

Subject: [Nrscfaculty] TA opening - CBNS 129

Dear neuroscience faculty,

It looks like we have an opening for a TA appointment in CBNS 129: Brain control of bodily function with Dr. Curras-Collazo for Winter quarter. This looks like it will be a 25% position with probably 3 discussion sections, although there is a chance enrollment could increase. Please let me know if one of your students would be interested in TAing this course. Students in programs outside of neuroscience would also receive consideration.

Thank you!
Todd
