Welcome to Summer!
Black Scholars, you did it! After 30 weeks of midterms, finals, and everything in between, you made it to the summer! This is a fantastic time to strengthen friendships, build new connections, and reconnect with loved ones. Organize barbecues, plan movie nights under the stars, or have a picnic in the park with your buddies. Catch up with old friends, and don't forget to share your exciting adventures and create beautiful memories together.
Remember, summer is also a precious time to relax, rejuvenate, and have fun before the next chapter of your academic journey begins. So, make every day count and savor every moment of this incredible season. Let the laughter, sunshine, and adventure fill your days with boundless joy and create memories that will make you smile for years to come.

Congrats to our inaugural No Boundaries cohort for having an amazing experience in Georgetown, Guyana! The No Boundaries Alternative Break Experience is a program where select Black scholars can explore new spaces, places, and faces within the Pan African Diaspora and do a deep examination in their Black identity development. Our goal is to provide our Black scholars with opportunities that cultivate a safe, inclusive community where not only their identity is affirmed, but they’re able to develop academically, culturally, and holistically on their journey at UCR and beyond. The CEF supports events at UC Riverside with a cultural significance that enhances our vibrant diverse community! If you are part of a student organization or department that has future events with such emphasis coming up, please apply as soon as possible! Application guidelines and restrictions are listed at hub.ucr.edu. For more information, please visit our website under the Highlander Union tab. Groups may receive grants up to $3,000!
