Stay Well Tips - Tips for Trick or Treating during COVID-19
Halloween is coming up, and it is time to dress up in your best costume! This year is a different year for this Halloween season due to COVID-19. If you plan on participating in this year's spooky activities, make sure you are safe! Here are some tips to help you trick-or-treat safely!

1. Make sure you are always wearing a mask. COVID-19 has not disappeared yet! Make your mask a part of your costume. Wearing a costume mask is not a proper substitution for a regular cloth mask. This is a fun way to get creative! So, get a head start and think of some spooky ideas to incorporate a protective cover to your costume.

2. Wash your hands! If you plan on trick or treating, make sure you bring some sanitizing wipes or hand sanitizer. This is extremely important because you or your children may be touching objects that have germs on it. It is also essential to wash your hand thoroughly before eating your favorite candy.

3. Keep 6 feet away from people you do not know! Just because it is Halloween does not mean you can ignore this safety precaution! Whether you are indoors or outdoors, keep at least 6 feet away from people you do not know. Following this step will still allow you to have fun during this spooky time and help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

4. Avoid big groups. If you plan on trick-or-treating with your friends, try to go in smaller groups. However, make sure everyone is still wearing a mask. This will reduce your risk of getting sick. And while walking down to each house for candy, you guys should always stay socially distant. Overall, avoid big groups and those who are not wearing a mask!

5. Set up a trick-or-treat basket outside your house. If you are not doing the trick-or-treating but rather the giving, create a station outside your home. This will help reduce the contact between you and the other party. Pre-make some candy goodie bags and leave them outside your door for people to grab. Here is a link to some great ideas for low-contact trick-or-treating!
