Giving Back and Getting Help
During these difficult times, we can all come together to help each other. If you have some extra time on your hands and looking for ways to give back to the community or someone in need of assistance, here are some great resources to check out.

* Volunteer in your community safely with Covid-19<https://www.californiavolunteers.ca.gov/get-involved/covid-19/> Check out the many ways you can make a difference.

* 211<https://www.211.org/> is a vital service that connects people to resources around crisis emergency, disaster assistance, and essential needs (food, housing, and childcare).

* Childcare<https://mychildcare.ca.gov/>: Simply put in your address or zip code to find licensed childcare providers that are currently open including location, health and safety details, ages of children served, capacity and hours of care.

* Emergency staff assistance<https://staffassembly.ucr.edu/emergency-assistance-staff>: UCR employees can apply for a $100 gift card for food/gas through Staff Assembly.

* Feeding America Inland Empire<https://www.feedingamericaie.org/get-help>, which is our region's food bank, has links to places any resident can go for food.

* Search for food pantries<https://www.foodpantries.org/> in your area

* Riverside County free food pantries<https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html/riverside_food_banks_and_pantr.html>

* California Association of Food Banks' food bank finder by Zip code. http://www.cafoodbanks.org/

* Support local growers at a Farmers' Market<https://www.ams.usda.gov/local-food-directories/farmersmarkets> near you.

* As Californians cope with both the COVID-19 pandemic and wildfires across the state, UC's benefits partners<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/emergency-resources.html> are committed to meeting the needs of those affected.

* One-stop resource<https://onwardca.org/> for the people of California impacted by job loss during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

We hope you find these tips and resources helpful. UCR Healthy Campus<https://healthycampus.ucr.edu/> and the Faculty/Staff Wellness Program<https://hr.ucr.edu/about-us/workplace-health-wellness/wellness> remains committed to the health and well-being of the campus community.
