Subject: #GivingTueUCR: FY22 Giving Tuesday exciting updates and announcements!
Good evening Colleagues,
The Office of Annual Giving is excited to announce that Giving Tuesday will be on November 30, 2021! Together we've made Giving Tuesday a record-breaking success each year, so we thank you for all your hard work. Let's make it a tradition to have the most successful day of giving once again!
October 4, 2021 will mark the launch of Beyond Brilliant, our first student-focused fundraising initiative which seeks to raise $50 million over the next five years for scholarships and graduate fellowships, experiential learning opportunities such as study abroad programs, and resources to enhance the health and well-being of students. Due to the launch of this new initiative, we are encouraging all student support focused organizations to participate in Giving Tuesday this year.
Additionally, we are excited to share that there is an extraordinary NEW opportunity that all student support focused organizations can take advantage of. Through the generosity of a lead donor and the UCR foundation board of trustees, a $5 million pledge has been made to create the first-ever Trustee Student Support Challenge Match. This means that every student support gift made of $5 or more, up to $500,000, will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact for UCR students this Giving Tuesday! More details about this match can be found in the GT Ambassador Toolkit.
Below are a few key items to help you get started planning for this year's Giving Tuesday:
* Submitting Your Project Page:
* If you would like to participate in this year's Giving Tuesday event, please refer to the GT Project Page Submission Instructions document attached in this email.
* Please note that project page submissions are due by EOB on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
* Ambassador Toolkit:
* The ambassador toolkit provides sample messaging for emails and social media content that you can incorporate into your own unit's messaging to promote Giving Tuesday. We encourage you to reach out to faculty, staff, donors, family, and friends of UCR to help promote your campaign and encourage others to participate in Giving Tuesday.
* Please ensure that your ambassadors do not post any Giving Tuesday content until Monday, November 22, 2021.
* Giving Tuesday Happy Hours:
* The Office of Annual Giving will be hosting virtual "Happy Hours" for any inquiries regarding setting up project pages, recruiting ambassadors, and offering any other "help desk" services. Please make sure to look out for the meeting invites via email in the following weeks. We can't wait to see you there!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our team at ag at ucr.edu<mailto:ag at ucr.edu>. We are here to answer any of your questions, assist with project pages, and help all campus partners who participate in #GivingTueUCR.
Let's make this the best Giving Tuesday yet!
Best,
Marianne
