Dear Colleagues,
Student Affairs Communications has received inquiries from Student Affairs departments in response to an email sent by P & R to the campus community announcing new graphic design services. The email seems to have generated some confusion regarding their services and our own.
Let me begin by saying that the duties of our office, Student Affairs Communications, have not changed, nor has the way we interact and support the division of Student Affairs. We have always been, and continue to be, a full-service, exclusive Student Affairs resource for marketing, design, print, video, web, and multimedia materials, concepts, and campaigns. And as always, there is no charge for our services.
Strategic Communications is the public relations and news arm of the campus. Therefore, any changes within Strategic Communications should have no impact on Student Affairs Communications or your office.
We are eager to help you promote your services, programs, and events in the most effective manner possible and successfully guide you through the marketing process.
If you have any questions about this matter or would like to discuss a new project, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Or, to enter a project request on our Sharepoint Marketing Request site, please go to http://staff.sac.ucr.edu/default.aspx
Thank you.

Subject: [Staff] Printing and Reprographics to Offer New Graphic Design Services
Printing and Reprographics to Offer New Graphic Design Services
As we enter into the new school year, we are writing to make you aware of some significant changes to graphic design services offered to the campus community.
In support of the University Advancement division, the UCR Office of Strategic Communications (Strategic Communications) has established a new multimedia services unit that integrates the work of print design, web design and video production staff. In conjunction with this reorganization, Luis Sanz has been appointed as Creative Director and manager of the web and print design services team (formerly known as Creative Design Services or CDS).
In conjunction with this reorganization, Strategic Communications is no longer operating a recharge-based design service open to all campus clients. However, we are pleased to announce a new partnership with Printing & Reprographics (P & R) which will help provide graphic design services for all campus departments that are not affiliated with the University Advancement division.
Beginning immediately, the contacts for this new P & R design service are Paul Young at extension 24318, Priscilla Martin at extension 24444 or Dallas Johnson at extension 24498. At their Atlanta Avenue facility, P & R staff will provide free consultations for campus clients to identify design and printing needs, arrange for services with commercial artists and coordinate print production logistics. For former CDS clients, Strategic Communications will provide P & R with digital files of previous projects and access to campus photography. Fees will be determined by P & R on a per project basis and written estimates will be provided to clients prior to production.
Please contact Printing and Reprographics at 24498 for additional information.
Thank you for your continued support.
