During the 1970s when Asians in America were invisible to the country--and
more importantly even to themselves--the late Chris Iijima 's music provided
the voice and identity an entire generation had been in search of. Through
animated photographs, intimate home movies, archival footage and Chris' own
songs, A Song For Ourselves is a film that shows how Chris' music unleashed
the contagious energy of the Asian American Movement with an unrelenting
passion for social justice and a life well lived.

Chol Soo Lee: A Question of Justice

After being wrongfully accused for murder in the 1970's and spending almost
10 years in San Quentin prison, Chol Soo Lee tells his story, weaving in his
experiences facing racism within the criminal justice system, the personal
costs of institutionalization, and ultimately teaches the lesson that
dedication and the human spirit can overcome life's toughest obstacles.

A panel discussion that will focus on the personal issues and struggles each
artist has faced in trying to break into the music industry.  Panelists
include Paul Dateh, David Choi, Jane Lui and Kina Grannis.

Scarlet Thread - CSA Culture Night

Chinese Culture Night is a proud tradition that presents the Chinese
American identity showcasing the uniqueness of our culture in a live stage
performance.  Culture Night significanly influences all those that are
involved because it allows us to come together to celebrate our heritage,
acknowledge our culture, and by doing so, we understand that those
constituents are an underlying definition of who we are as Chinese
Americans; Celebrating the past, understanding the present, looking to the
future. 

Senryu Taiko Spring Concert

Come feel the Beat! Senryu Taiko presents the traditional art of Japanese
Drumming. Tickets: $12 for general admission; $10 for students; $8 for
children.
