NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP) 2009-10 Applications Now Available!

Help shape the future
of student affairs...

Dear Colleagues,

The NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP) offers our students the unique opportunity to gain an insight into our profession and experience the benefits of having a career in student affairs or higher education for themselves. NUFP is also a way for us to "give back" and ensure our profession has a pipeline of diverse staff ready to be leaders in higher education. As a NUFP mentor, and now the advisory board chair, I have seen how the program has successfully ensured that the next generation of student affairs professionals is better prepared to serve future students. I encourage all of you to support our students and our profession by sponsoring a NUFP fellow on your campus. Together, we can all contribute to ensuring a more diverse and inclusive profession.

Sincerely,

Anna Gonzalez
NUFP Board Chair
Associate Vice Chanceller for Student Affairs, University of Illinois

Application Deadline: April 24, 2009

The NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP) is a semi-structured mentoring program for undergraduate students interested in learning more about the fields of student affairs and higher education. NASPA needs YOUR help in achieving NUFP's mission of increasing the number of persons with ethnic-minority backgrounds, persons with disabilities, and/or persons who identify as LGBT in student affairs and higher education. Play an integral role in the success of NUFP by bringing this program to your campus. Completed applications must be received in the NASPA office by April 24, 2009. This deadline will allow fellows to begin their campus-based mentorship at the start of the fall 2009 academic year.

"It's giving back to the profession and helping increase awareness and education of diversity issues and how to create a more inclusive profession that makes this program so great."

"We firmly believe that all NASPA member institutions should provide experiences for NUFP students."

"We've always had a positive experience and are dedicated to developing the future of our field."

"It's a great opportunity to help support, mentor, and develop a future colleague."
