Wait Listing Courses
A student who receives an open seat notification has 24-hours to enroll, or be automatically dropped from the waitlist. If you are on a waitlist, we recommend monitoring your email twice a day, even throughout the campus closure. The waitlist system is automated and will immediately trigger an open seat notification to the next student on the waitlist. For students who miss their 24-hour deadline, they will need to add themselves to the waitlist again. Tutorials on how to add yourself on a waitlist and what to do if you miss your 24-hour deadlines, are available: https://registrar.ucr.edu/registering/waitlist.

________________________________

Withdrawal from Term Deadline: Friday, December 11
Reminder: You can complete a full term withdraw if you believe you will not pass any of your classes this quarter.

Students who are approved to be dropped from ALL CLASSES will NO LONGER BE A UCR STUDENT and will need a readmission application. If you wish to return to UCR in a future term, a READMISSION APPLICATION will need to be submitted to your GSOE Academic Advisor so that you can be activated as a UCR student. Consult with your Academic Advisor on readmission deadlines and criteria.

With the approval of the Associate Dean, students may withdraw from a given quarter through the last day of instruction (this Friday, December 11) utilizing this form. Once this form is approved by the Associate Dean, the Registrar’s Office will officially withdraw you from the institution. If you stop attending class, and have not been approved to withdraw from the quarter, failing grades will be posted and your eligibility to reenter the University of California, Riverside or transfer to another institution may be jeopardized.

Note: Please be aware that you are still responsible for any financial obligation you may have with the institution, even upon your withdrawal.

Before proceeding, please consider these helpful tips:

1. If you withdraw after the add/drop period of the quarter (Friday of 2nd week) your courses will remain on your transcript with a "W". For Fall 2020 and Winter 2021, if you withdraw between third week and eighth week of the quarter, courses will be dropped with no “W”. For withdrawals after eighth week, your courses will remain with a “W”. This academic change has no impact on the refund policy.
2. If you are a financial aid recipient, it is recommended that you discuss your intent to withdraw with your financial aid counselor prior to withdrawing. They can assist you in understanding the amount of financial aid money you may or may not have to return to the institution upon your withdrawal.
3. For information on the fee refund policy, please refer to the refund chart to understand any obligation you may still have to the institution.
4. Withdrawing from the institution may also impact on-campus housing contracts. Please contact Housing to further discuss the implication of your withdrawal. (housing.ucr.edu<http://housing.ucr.edu/>)
5. If you did not opt-out from your UCR Health Insurance Premium, then you must contact the Health Department at (951) 827-5683 for further assistance in removing the charge from your account.

Please review the UCR Registrar website (registrar.ucr.edu<http://registrar.ucr.edu/>) regarding new updated cancellation, withdrawal, and lapse policies.

To inquire about the Term Withdrawal option, complete our GSOE Google form below and your Academic Advisor will contact you within 3-5 business days. This information will help your GSOE Academic Advisor make the best determination for withdrawal based on your situation.

New Advising/College Outreach Fieldwork Opportunity:
GSOE has recently teamed up with the Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) and is seeking undergraduate students with a Junior and Senior standing who are interested in working with high school students in and from the inland empire. This work would include supporting EAOP’s effort to increase the number of educationally disadvantaged students who have the opportunity to achieve a post-secondary education and/or who are prepared to matriculate to a four-year college or university. Students will work closely with a Regional Coordinator in providing academic guidance to EAOP students and assist in event/activity registration.

If you are interested in participating in this opportunity beginning in the 2021 winter quarter, please contact Sarah Juarez our Community Learning Coordinator at: gsoelearningcoord at ucr.edu<mailto:gsoelearningcoord at ucr.edu>.

 Campus Resources

UCR Academic Resource Center (ARC)
Finals week is here. For any last-minute support on your courses or guidance and reviews on your papers the ARC is here to help!

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) provides tutoring and other academic support services to UCR’s undergraduate students. Resources provided by the ARC include Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, study skills workshops, and peer mentoring programs. Students are strongly encouraged to utilize the ARC, which is staffed by professional and student employees who are well trained to provide academic support and dedicated to fostering academic excellence. Staff work with all students, at all skill levels, in all stages of their undergraduate careers. Participating in these services is most useful to students when used pro-actively for academic enrichment.
