diabetic testing supply brands              *



UnitedHealthcare (UHC) has provided an update identifying additional
actionable items to support UC Medicare Choice members as they transition
from OneTouch® to preferred diabetic testing supply brands. These efforts
aim to ensure a smooth and safe process:

   - Authorize pharmaceutical companies to distribute flyers to providers
   highlighting UHC’s preferred brands: Contour® by Ascensia and Accu-Chek® by
   Roche *(started on July 7, 2025)*.
   - Initiate outbound calls to members to facilitate the transition *(started
   on July 14, 2025)*.
   - Coordinate with large chain pharmacies to conduct outreach to both
   members and providers *(starting on July 21, 2025)*.
   - Notify the Provider Network and publish a newsletter article on this
   topic *(starting August 1, 2025)*.
   - Allow providers to request a 30-day emergency override if a member is
   unable to safely transition to one of the preferred products *(will
   begin approximately August 3, 2025, or later)*.
   - Send Pharmacy Fax blasts (sent on July 8) and implement Point-of-Sale
   messaging *(will begin approximately August 3, 2025, or later)*.
   - Add an announcement banner to the UHC website at:
   https://retiree.uhc.com/uc *(in progress)*.
   - Update plan guides and EOCs to include Contour® and Accu-Chek® as the
   preferred diabetic supply brands *(in progress)*.
