Re:
Navitus - Part D Clarification Letter sent 2/28/2022

On February 28, 2022, Navitus mailed the Part D Letter to all members who previously received the Part D clinical letter because they had an Rx that was moving up in tier due to the transition (about 4,781 letters). The Part D letter was in an attempt to clarify the confusion around the 30-day transition for prescription drugs that are moving up a tier. The Part D letter can be viewed at: https://retirees.ucr.edu/document/navitus-part-d-letter.

Part D Letter Clarification

Clarification of this letter was needed because Navitus has seen an increase in inquiries regarding the Medicare transition letter that was sent on January 4, 2022 as well as a significant volume increase to Navitus Customer Care. Members interpreted the letter to mean that they will receive tier lowering as part of their transition. However, this was not the intent of the letter, as tier change transitions are not a part of the normal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' Medicare program.

Questions from members may be directed to the Navitus Customer Care team at (866) 270-3877.
