Navitus – Late Enrollment Penalty Communication Sent to Members

Navitus mailed the annual notification regarding late enrollment penalties (LEP) to affected Medicare PPO Plan members on January 25, 2022. Medicare beneficiaries may incur a late enrollment penalty if there is a continuous period of 63 days or more at any time after the end of the individual's Part D initial enrollment period during which the individual was eligible to enroll but was not enrolled in a Medicare Part D plan and was not covered under any creditable prescription drug coverage. Please view the four documents below:

· Yearly Change to LEP Amount: https://retirees.ucr.edu/document/yearly-change-lep-amount.

· LEP Billing Letter: https://retirees.ucr.edu/document/lep-billing-letter.

· 2022 LEP Reconsideration Form: https://retirees.ucr.edu/document/2022-lep-reconsideration-form.

· Navitus Sample Invoice: https://retirees.ucr.edu/document/navitus-sample-invoice.

Members who were assessed the LEP for the first time in 2022 were sent the 2022 LEP Reconsideration Form. The Navitus Sample Invoice was scheduled to mail the week of February 7, 2022 which included penalty amounts for the months of January 2022 and February 2022. Members are reminded to continue paying Anthem Blue Cross penalty amounts for 2021.
