According to 2025 processing benchmarks, the UC Retirement Administration Service Center (RASC) regularly surpasses our 90% on time payment goal for retirement applications initiated at least three months before a member’s separation date.

Individuals planning to retire will no longer have the option to elect “No Lapse in Pay” (NLIP), as RASC’s processing times no longer support this election.

Please ensure that retiring employees submit the signed election form and any required supporting documentation via UCRAYS 45–60 days before the intended retirement date.

Categories that may require additional handling time include:

• Pending Service Credit Inquiry/Purchase

• Divorce/QDRO

• Re‑Retirement

• Reciprocal/Concurrent Retirement (CalPERS and CalSTRS)

• Disability Crossover
