UC Office of the President was informed that a Kaiser Permanente member communication was sent via email on May 8, 2025 (in English only-see sample below) regarding a financial phone scam.  This scam is affecting multiple companies, including Kaiser Permanente, and is specifically targeting Chinese-speaking individuals or those with Asian names.

The callers are not Kaiser Permanente employees and are not affiliated with the organization in any way.  These fraudulent callers may falsely claim to represent Kaiser Permanente in an attempt to collect personal information, such as Social Security numbers or financial details related to unpaid medical claims.  Reports of this scam have been filed with local police departments.
